OUR FUTURE
FLY & THINK GREEN
Selling people flights to their home countries is our business. But beyond flight tickets, we also take responsibility for “our” environmental footprint. We do so e.g. by entering into cooperation with partners who think, produce, or act sustainably.
Ticket sleeves full of flower seeds
From now on, Reiseservice Sacco will be sending "bouquets" with its flight tickets. Seriously! More specifically, it is the ticket sleeve that hides the flowers in the form of carnation seeds. In just four simple steps, the ticket sleeve can be laid out and watered outdoors and flowers will start to grow from the paper-based breeding ground. Unique, sustainable and simply wonderful!
In Brazil, Jane da Silva-Sacco – the company owner’s wife who is e.g. responsible for our marketing activities – found what she was looking for: Papel Semente is the name of the small family-run business based in Rio de Janeiro. They manually recycle paper waste, add plant seeds to it and thus dip "planting paper" sheet by sheet. Real spadework that delighted us!
The Sacco Forest comprises 200 trees
In Ghana, our forest is currently growing with 200 cashew nut tree seedlings. The Sacco Forest was made possible thanks to our cooperation with the Italian "Treedom" organisation from Florence. Since 2010, it has been directly financing so-called agroforestry projects all over the world. This creates new ecosystems as well as jobs for local smallholders.
That's why we donate part of our earnings to our planet’s afforestation and try to reduce the CO2 emissions every flight causes. A step ahead into a green future.
Humanitarian travel
We support humanitarian and voluntary organizations in their charitable work by offering flight tickets at special prices.
Our offices illuminated energy-efficiently
Lighting in the office in general and at individual workplaces in particular is an important topic – for working people as well as for the environment. The better lamp and bulb are, the eco-friendlier the lighting is. Since 2017, Reiseservice Sacco has been using extremely economical light sources that comply with the standard “Europe Lights Energy Efficiency Concept” in its premises.
